The BIg Fear of Mac Users
I think I Finally understand what’s so scary about Apple’s move to X86 processors. Nobody will ever be able to say that Macs are much better then PC’s, as they will be using the same processors. yes, Apple will use better hardware like RAM and stuff, but the brain of the computer is the processor, and it will be the same old one as your neighbors PC. If Apple would announe that they were moving away from the PPC in favor of some other unknown chip, nobody would care. but its using the same processor as al the others which is so scary. no more of this kind of stuff. This also means that Apples hardware marketing has to change, no more of “we’re different”, but now they’ll have to work hard and try to prove that they’re better.

Generally the industry responded that the new Intel macs are dollar for dollar, faster and cheaper than their PC equivalents. Cool huh?

I guess what saved them is that their using the new Core processors, while most PC users still think Pentium

Personally, I think OS is the brain of the computer. It is the os, not the hardware that makes Apple computers better then PC’s.
