WordPress 2 seems to be here.
Well, I just visited WordPress.org, and noticed it had a new design, matching the new WordPress.com, the free WP based blog hosting service. the only problem is that the front page on WopdPress.org is set up like some “Blogging for dummies” site, well, I guess that’s what popularity does to you… I liked the Geekier version better.
So, in the download page is says download WordPress 2, but it has no announcement about the long awaited version 2 being available, it’s just there, no explanation available. I couldn’t find any “what’s new” document anywhere, and the only document in the codex referring to version 2 is the upgrade instructions.
There also seem to be some weird bugs in the site layout, like no titles showing in the WP blog, or no search box in the WP Codex I’m pretty sure I saw an article there a few days ago about WP 2, but I can’t find it… if they only put the search box back in… please!. Didn’t you guys ever hear of a test server???
Downloading and installing now (ON A TEST SERVER!) Updates to come.
Update 1: The blog title seems to be fixed now (10 Minutes later), lets hope they tested version 2 a bit better then their website before releasing.
