The Macintels are here
As all of you probably know by now (at least all of you that care), Steve Jobs presented 2 new Intel based macs in his keynoke in the MacWorld SF expo: the iMac and the MacBook Pro.
Although better then the PPC versions, the specs aren’t as great as I expected, and benchmarks were used to to compare them, not specs, because the difference in plain numberes wasn’t quite impressive.
But I don’t really know what to think about all these benchmark tests, only a little while ago, Apple used benchmarks to show that PPC based macs were faster then Intel PC’s with a higher clock speed, and now the opposite, so I guess you can use benchmarks to prove whatever you want.
one thing I don’t understand why Apple got rid of the PowerBook name, it’s been around since the early 90′s and sound’s much better then MacBook Pro (I’m guessing that the Intel iBooks will just be MacBooks).
But in general, this good news for Apple, (and Apple users) and it can only get better now.
