Thank You Apple (And Sony)
After 2 1/2 years, my iBook’s battery is pretty much dead. From lasting up 2 6 hours! (personally tested) it now lasts about 35 minutes. I was going to buy a new battery, or maybe a whole new laptop, but then I read about Apple’s battery recall My battery’s serial number matched, so it was one of those made by sony, who appearently don’t know how to make batteries, and I get a brand new battery for free!
So I just wanted to say thanks to Apple for being nice and replacing all the batteries, and to sony for screwing up, and to whoever discovered this just wen I needed a new battery.

Very cool. Free battery! I wonder what kind of battery life the new one will have? Did they provide any stats for you? and how long before you receive the battery? Will it be a long process to wait for it? If so, I say buy a new battery anyway and when the new one comes, you’ll have a backup

They say it will take about 4 weeks, but it’s worth waiting for, I really don’t have any extra spending money right now…

Lucky you, I check the battery of my old iBook, sold it to my sister, and it wasn’t one of them. But I thought it was worth the check, even though it was a 14in iBook.
